Nearly nine months after Hannibal Buress called Bill Cosby a smug-faced rapist during a stand-up set, the Associated Press foreclosed any possibility, however remote, that Cosby hasn’t behaved like a wretched excuse for a human being. Yesterday, the AP acquired documents from a 2005 deposition in which Cosby admitted that he used Quaaludes to drug at least one woman.
There’s nothing new there, according to Judd Apatow, but to others, it was the nail in the coffin, erasing all doubts about Cosby. In fact, Cosby’s biggest defender — besides Amy Schumer, of course — finally relented and conceded that she was wrong about her mentor.
Musician Jill Scott vocally defended Bill Cosby back in December and waged war against her Twitter followers, basically saying that she refused to believe the allegations against Cosby without proof.
Well, now there’s proof, and Scott is taking back those earlier statements.
Alas, Cosby may be the only man in America less liked than Donald Trump right now. Maybe he should be Trump’s running mate.
